Creative Fibre Westland Area Exhibition, Wild Fibre, was held in the Carnegie Gallery, Hokitika Museum, from 3 – 17 March and incorporated Hands On, the Creative Fibre national travelling exhibition.
Setting up the exhibition was rather interesting as I had had knee surgery to remove part of my torn meniscus a few days earlier and was not very mobile. I ended up given directions to other members from the floor. It initially looked an impossible task with all the varied entries on the floor in the middle of the gallery. But once we sorted into colour groupings, the exhibition began to take shape and it was almost like a rainbow as you moved around the walls.
I put in some harakeke wall hangings, loom woven wall hangings and a couple of three dimensional pieces.
