I was invited to enter some sculptural weaving into the annual King’s College art exhibition in Auckland. It was a thrill to see ‘Serpentine” on the cover of the catalogue. This long tube was woven from harakeke (NZ flax) and loosely knotted.
The other two were more of my looped and knotted netting works in the Gossamer and Ethereal series.

Really enjoyed reading about your participation in the King’s College exhibition! Seeing Serpentine featured on the catalogue cover must’ve been a proud moment. I’m curious: did the looped netting pieces—Gossamer and Ethereal—receive much attention alongside the harakeke work? Thanks for sharing these highlights and giving us a peek into your sculptural weaving journey.
It was the looped netting work that lead to the invitation to participate in the Kings College exhibition. It was the Serpentine piece that generated most interest during the exhibition.
