WAI – Westland Arts Inc, held an exhibition at the Carnegie Gallery, Hokitika Museum, in October in conjunction with the latest Take-a-Seat competition. Members were invited to exhibit works related to the seats.
I had recently been to a week-long basket making course with Deb Price where I was introduced to many different basketmaking techniques, mainly using harakeke (New Zealand flax).
For the Take a Seat exhibition I made three miniature seats using some of these new techniques.
