I was delighted to be invited to submit harakeke weaving artwork for the 53rd Annual Multimedia Exhibition, presented by Riversdale Arts in Northern Southland from 19–27 June 2026. I welcomed this opportunity after my previous invitation to participate ten years ago.
The Riversdale Arts 53rd Mixed Media Exhibition celebrates the blend of rural and contemporary lifestyles, and the balance between the two in the theme “Entwined Interconnection”. For this exhibition, I submitted four woven harakeke circular artworks:
- Three Sunbursts, woven from dyed and natural harakeke
- One Kōpae, woven from natural harakeke
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to be at the exhibition so thanks to Riversdale Arts and Lucy Leti for these images and the video short clip.
